Public interest information – Law 544

Free and unrestricted access for any person in Romania to public interest information, as defined by Law No. 544/2001 on Free Access to Public Interest Information, is one of the fundamental principles governing relations between individuals and the public authorities. Public interest information means any information which concerns, or results from, the activities of a public authority or public institution, irrespective of the medium, form or manner in which the information is expressed.
