Agro-morphological characterisation of the genotypes analysed, by identifying the main phenotypic traits relevant to the selection and breeding of bean lines;
Determination of the biochemical composition of the selected lines, with particular attention to firmness, protein and polyphenol content, antioxidant activity, titratable acidity, soluble dry matter and total dry matter, in order to assess nutritional quality;
Identification of lines capable of delivering high yields and high tolerance to biotic and abiotic stress factors, together with significant nutritional qualities;
Establishment of optimal growing technologies by analysing the influence of various technological factors on the productivity and biochemical composition of beans;
Use of the lines with superior biochemical characteristics to promote foodstuffs with a beneficial impact on health, thereby contributing to the development of innovative directions in the agri-food industry.
