Thesis title
"Research on innovative growing technologies for basil (Ocimum spp.)"
Thesis objectives
The aim of this research is to optimise the growing technology for the species studied at each technological stage, to increase the yield of usable green mass and to diversify the range of Ocimum spp. offered on the market.
- Testing the influence of supplementary lighting with high-power LEDs on the growth and development of seedlings of the species studied, in the vertical greenhouse of the Vegetable Research and Development Station Buzau;
- Assessing the quality of the seedlings produced under the various treatments, in terms of their growth and development under polytunnel or open-field growing conditions;
- Testing the influence of sound waves on seedling production in Ocimum spp. and analysing the resulting differences in growth, development and quality, as compared with the conventional system;
- Trialling the influence of blessed water and Epiphany holy water on the growth and development of Ocimum spp. plants.
