The Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Romania) brought together representatives of the public, private and academic sectors at the event marking the launch of the Agri-Food Policy Brief, organised as two debate panels on issues of current concern to the agri-food sector.
Dr Eng. Elena Barcanu, Director of VRDS Buzau, took part as a speaker in the first panel, where the discussions covered:
the strategic directions for reducing the agri-food trade deficit,
the role of research in the development of Romanian agriculture,
the need for genuine collaboration between research, farmers and industry.
Dialogue between players from different fields remains essential for raising the competitiveness of Romanian agriculture and for identifying sustainable, workable solutions.
