Vegetable Research and Development Station Buzau – Research, innovation, and passion for Romanian vegetable cultivation!

VRDS Buzau, part of the European EUVRIN network: vegetable research with an international outlook

🌍VRDS Buzau at the first meeting of the European EUVRIN network! 🇪🇺🌱
From 5 to 7 November we took part in the first meeting of #EUVRIN – the European Vegetable Research Institute Network, a network that connects Europe’s vegetable research institutes in order to make collaboration, the exchange of knowledge and the development of shared research directions easier.
📊At the meeting, the VRDS Buzau research profile was presented, and we discussed:
✅ our main lines of research,
✅ the projects currently under way,
✅ our research infrastructure,
✅ and our plans for the future.
📖 We also presented the paper “Evaluation of intra-accession phenotypic variation in common bean: a case study” (author Dr Eng. CSII Eliza Teodorescu), in which we analysed the phenotypic variation of our bean 🫘 accessions and the situations in which insects 🐝 can assist pollination, even though the common bean is known as a self-pollinating species.
🌐 Taking part in EUVRIN gives us a European perspective on the challenges and opportunities in the vegetable sector and opens up new avenues for international collaboration 🤝.
