VRDS Buzau holds a valuable germplasm collection of pepper.
Today we are presenting a few of the pepper varieties available in our offer:
Cantemir bell pepper – a mid-early variety with red fruit at edible maturity (blocky type). The fruit has an attractive commercial appearance, it is sweet and aromatic and also keeps well after harvest.
Arum bell pepper – an early variety, whitish green at edible maturity and an intense, glossy red at physiological maturity, with a pleasant taste and aroma.
Buzău 10 pepper – an early variety with trapezoidal fruit that is fleshy, uniform and sweet.
Galben superior pepper – a mid-early variety with strong vigour. The fruit is pale yellow at edible maturity and red and glossy at physiological maturity.
Regal long pepper – an early variety with elongated fruit weighing between 120 and 146 g. The flesh is crisp, sweet and aromatic. The fruit passes through several colour stages, from yellowish green to orange and finally red at physiological maturity.
Cosmin long pepper – a mid-late variety with kapia-type fruit, dark red at physiological maturity and with an attractive commercial appearance.
Splendens gogoșar pepper – an early variety of medium vigour. The fruit has an attractive commercial appearance and can be eaten at physiological maturity, when it turns an intense red.
