🌍🔬 VRDS Buzau at the SEB Annual Conference 2025 – Antwerp!
Dr Eng. CSII Elena Barcanu and Dr Eng. CSIII Ovidia Agapie took part in one of the most important international events in the field of experimental biology, bringing Romanian vegetable research to the fore.
🧄 The paper presented at the event was “Phenotypic evaluation of garlic (Allium sativum L.) genotypes under open-field conditions”, produced under the ADER 6.3.6 project, which aims to identify local garlic genotypes with resistance to climate stress and high agronomic potential.
🎯 The programme included sessions of the greatest interest for research and horticultural production:
🌡 Plant adaptation to drought and extreme temperatures
🌱 Root system physiology
🌿 Plant–beneficial microorganism interactions
🧬 Innovations in selection and genetic breeding
🌱 Why does it matter for farmers? Because the future of vegetable growing lies in adapted local varieties that are resistant and productive. And that is exactly what our research is after: real solutions that can be applied in the field.
