Research on equipment for harvesting medicinal and aromatic plants on small farms

Project objective
Diversification of the range of vegetables and flowers by introducing into cultivation new species, varieties and local populations of sweet pepper, gogoșar pepper, onion, cucumbers, savory, courgette, dwarf garden bean, aubergine, melon, early radish, black radish, tomato, celery, autumn white cabbage, marigold, cosmos and pinks.
Results
- Genetic breeding work carried out in 16 vegetable species, with a view to obtaining high-performing genotypes adapted to current agroclimatic conditions;
- Development of optimised growing technologies for the 16 vegetable species;
- Registration of 6 vegetable varieties (the tomato for processing and fresh consumption „Buzau 4”, the sweet pepper „Arum”, the gogoșar pepper „Splendens”, the aubergine „Zaraza”, the courgette „Hapy”, the direct-sown red onion „Rubiniu”) and of one cucumber hybrid, ‚Sirius”;
- 5 patents obtained;
- 4 articles indexed in international databases (BDI); 2 books; 15 other articles;'
- Demonstration plots established.
