- Implementation period: 2015-2018
Project objectives
- Determining and monitoring the technological and biological factors of the crops (optimum harvesting time, physico-chemical properties, the influence of temperature and humidity conditions, etc.) with a view to optimising freezing technologies applicable along cold chains).
Results
- Identification of the vegetable species with high potential for processing by freezing, according to the yields obtained under ammonium nitrate fertilisation: Menuet bean, Getica pea, Românesc spinach;
- Establishment of optimum crop production protocols for the three species mentioned;
- Testing of 4 fertilisation treatments (1 control + 3 differentiated doses of ammonium nitrate);
- Supply of fresh plant material for the experimental activities;
- Preparation of information leaflets setting out crop technologies adapted to each species, for the purpose of disseminating the results to farmers and other stakeholders in the horticultural sector.
