Project objectives
Ensuring environmental sustainability by increasing the competitiveness of breeding activity in organic agriculture.
Results
- Development of a pathogen detection test, useful for the early identification of plant pathogens.
- Modernisation of two seed production technologies, contributing to greater efficiency and higher quality of the seed material;
- Establishment of a valuable germplasm collection for the conservation and use of plant genetic resources;
- Development of four advanced homozygous lines with high potential for use in breeding programmes;
- Institutional development: recruitment of 4 young researchers (Research Assistants);
- Publications: 3 ISI-indexed articles; 5 articles indexed in international databases (BDI);
- Participation in 5 conferences (1 national and 4 international);
- Organisation of exhibitions and of visits to the demonstration plots in the experimental field of the Vegetable Research and Development Station Buzau and to plots attended by farmers.
