Project objectives

Determination of the potential for nitrate accumulation in plants through fertilisation, in 4 vegetable species under protected cultivation and 6 vegetable species in the open field;

Development of specific growing technologies free from the risk of toxic residue accumulation.

Results

  • Development of specific growing technologies for the fertilisation of vegetable species grown under protected cultivation (lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers) and in the open field (cabbage, carrots, aubergines, sweet pepper, gogoșar pepper, onion);
  • Establishment of 10 demonstration plots, through which the effectiveness of the proposed fertilisation technologies was tested and validated under real production conditions.
